Elvendrumming - Devan, Nerethel, Phookasoo, and Dragontina
Join the elves of Elvendrums for a rare drumming class. Bring your drums as we talk about our
favorite rhythms and drums. Free yourself from concern about your drumming - learn to let go and
play along with your drum. Elvendrums uses and teaches intuitive drumming, which has brought us
joy and success for more than 15 years of recording, rituals, celebrations, classes and performances
all over the United States. Together we'll get ready to play and celebrate the Fairy and Otherkin Ball
Saturday night. ( you don't have to come to the class to play at the Ball, but you deserve some midafternoon
energetic fun, so come join us)! We will have extra drums and shakers.
Bugs as Magical Allies! - John Brazaitis
Although insects are by far the most successful, numerous and most often encountered form of life
on the planet, most of us at best exist in an uneasy truce with these creatures. Our pagan ancestors
felt quite differently, regarding them as powerful magical allies. For example, did you know that bees
have their own Gods, that grasshoppers can make you lucky and prosperous, or that every butterfly
is
a witch? This workshop will explore some of these traditions, some of which are as old as the first
depictions of deity by humans. Oh yes, and for the faint of heart, no actual bugs will be involved.
John Brazaitis is a longtime Reclaiming tradition witch, and for over 15 years has frequently
taught at various witch camps and intensives in the US and Canada. A self described master of the
obscure, but little known, he has delighted in studying bugs since childhood. He works mostly with
Eastern and Northern European tradition, and has a deep interest in runes. John lives at
Sweetwater, a conservation land trust and intentional community were he follows the family trade of
beekeeping.
Earth Religions Organizations Networking and Social - Hosted by
Rev Rose Wise, High Priestess of Ozark Avalon and other Board Members
Introductions to what’s going on in Missouri and the nation. Feel free to bring literature and
announcements for the information table. If you wish you may wear your PJs and bring your food.
Info on Pagan Spirit Gathering, the Music for the Earth Festival and other upcoming events will be
available. We will have open mike time of 5 minutes each for presentations.
The Magickal Equation / An Original Lesson - El Bee
Regardless of the type of magick one is performing, there are things you cannot leave out and
expect the magick to work. All forms of magick have some things in common. This workshop strips
away all the 'flash'in our magick and reduces it to an equation which can be applied to any magickal
practice for best results.
Elbee is the longtime high Priest of Yarrow Coven and the Grand PooBah of
the St. Louis Pagan Picnic. Also see Elbee at his booth Dragonhoard.
Introduction to Meditation and Guided Imaging - Sage James
Sage James is High Priest of Ozark Avalon and teaches relaxation and journey work in his
professional role as a therapist/counselor. Sage will provide a basic introduction to the principles of
meditation (grounding, centering, breath-work, etc…). He will then utilize these techniques to take
the group on a guided editation of the four directions. Tom Chapin (Board President and hug man
of Ozark Avalon) will provide drum accompaniment for the journey
Painting and Preening - Sorsha, Rhonda and others
The elves of Ozark Avalon will assist with face and body painting, wing straightening, and fairy
preening for circle and the Fairy and Otherkin Ball.
Elvendrums
A Band of Elves
You've known them and their signature rolling drum sound for years. Hypnotic, trans-inducing, addictive - they drum the spirit of place and you feel instantly connected, transformed. For over 15 years a small group of musicians, touched by faerie magic, has written, produced and performed the mystical and celebratory sounds of Faerie. Beginning as drummers, they crafted a unique sound that has touched the soul of faerie in fans all over the world. Their shows blend a mixture of comedy, folklore, intricate rhythm and childlike fantasy.
Elvendrums has produced 4 CDs of original music, infused with hypnotic tribal rhythms and harmonies, evoking something primal and magical within us all. Their music encourages others to believe – especially in themselves.
This weekend, enjoy a rare appearance of Dragontina, who is returning to celebrate Hibernation with her sister, Devan. Bring your drums, come to the Saturday drumming workshop, celebrate the Fairy
and Otherkin Ball.
Do you Believe? Remember the rhythm of your magic. Join us.
