A great Pagan family fellowship

Our traditional Ozark Avalon family reunion has expanded into a major regional festival with special guest presenters and Pagan music. This year is our 13th Anniversary, so we are planning a great event. With over 150 attendees last year we had a great time and hope to see this year grow as more people discover our beautiful land and welcoming hospitality.

Special Guests

mikeMike Nichols - (written by SoulFire, edited by Sarah) Mike Nichols' influence on witchcraft in North America is greatly overlooked. He was, and still is, a major figure in Old Guard Wicca, particularly in the Midwest, but also the rest of the world. He was one of the pioneers in the Craft movement in the 1960s and 70s, having taught classes in witchcraft at University level (for free) continuously for twenty years, from 1970-1989. He was a founding member of the Coven of New Gwynedd, and the first Wiccan on the Kansas Interfaith Council. He was interviewed by NPR in the late 70s, and rumor has it that Margot Adler (a reporter for NPR), heard the interview and was inspired to write "Drawing Down the Moon" (though she does not mention him in any edition). Mike owned one of the first occult shops in Kansas City, and he edited an early Pagan newsletter called The Lantern's Light. But he is best known for a series of essays he wrote on the Sabbats, and other articles, which have been sourced by many, many Pagans the world over.
He has a string of critical reviews for this material (see acornguild.com) which was published in 2005 as a book called "The Witches' Sabbats", by Acorn Guild Press, now preparing for a 2nd printing.

sionnaSionna Lochlainn - has been High Priestess of Elysium Coven in Kansas City since 1994, which is is a legally recognized church in the state of Missouri, offering rites of passage, legal clergy, counseling and classes in Witchcraft. She is a long term member of the Heartland Spiritual Alliance (serving as president for four years), the organization that hosts the annual Heartland Pagan Festival, the largest Pagan festival in the midwest. Although not a licensed psychologist, she has had much experience in spiritual counseling for alternative lifestyles and, together with her husband, routinely hosts workshops and events for the midwest polyamory community.

lyonW. Lyon Martin - has been an Eclectic Pagan since the mid 80s. Her initial training began with a Dianic Coven in New Haven, Connecticut. After moving to northern Connecticut with the birth of her daughter, she began Solitary practice.
In 2000, Lyon was hand-fasted to her wonderful husband, Thunderchilde, and moved half way across the country to Missouri where she began writing articles for Pagan publications both in print and online, among them the Witch’s Voice, the Wiccan/Pagan Times and PanGaia Magazine.
Lyon is the author of several Pagan children’s books, An Ordinary Girl, A Magical Child (2005, 2008), Aidan’s First Full Moon Circle (2008), and Watchers (2008). She is the illustrator of those three books as well as Rabbit’s Song (2009) by S.J. Tucker and Trudy Herring.
Lyon has a deep commitment to children. Walking her talk, she applied for and completed training to be a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children of the St. Louis Children’s Division Court foster care system. She was officially sworn into this volunteer position on Sept 11, 2008.

Live Entertainment

cernowianCernowain Greenman - "Go Green with Cernowain Greenman!" "For years Cernowain Greenman has been a consummate storyteller, professional speaker and dedicated musician. He now boldly steps onto the Pagan Music scene with a quiver full of mystical songs that awaken the spirit. Ranging from folk to rock to blues to vaudeville, “Cern” (or “C.G.” as his aficionados call him), brings listening bliss to Pagans of all ages with his gifts of story and song." "Cernowain Greenman has received praises and adulations from the fortunate souls with whom this sacred Man of the Forest has shared his melodious tunes: Selena Fox: “Wonderful!” Celia Farran: “Brilliant!” Beltana Spellsinger: “Cern has a TON of soul.” And you will be raving about him, too.

Jennie Starr - is someone you don't want to miss. Her show carries an amazing
talent and energy that is something out of this world. Her voice will create a new
brain wave that you didn't know you had! Jennie's music and presence is
uplifting and will leave you wanting more!
